Great place to overnight when travelling with a pet

The location is magical, set in a suburb of Venlo, not too far from the motorway, but feels like you are in the country side with a pond, forest and nature reserve nearby. It’s great when travelling with a dog and everyone is very accommodating. Rooms are fine for short stays, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is amazing and there is safe parking just outside.

The room doors are quite noisy. Dinner is expensive and there are not a lot of ‚small’ dishes available.

Very Good

Location is beautiful and well positioned away from main roads in a classic part of town. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Staff spoke English which was useful as simple Aussie folk.

Finding a staff member to check in to the hotel was a challenge. We checked in after the dinner service had begun (which was not their fault), and there was no alternative food option available nearby - however the staff didn't offer any recommendations, which would prove very helpful for people unfamiliar with the area. Minor issues, it was otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Good old hotel in the woods

Very nice old hotel with great restaurant and beautiful grounds in the woods. A bit out of town, so if you want to go to other restaurants, will need to drive. Room was nice and big and comfortable.

Aircons was not really working and had to open windows to get cooler air at night.

Good customer service, keep it up

The location, dinner set up, breakfast and music.

The toilets and a few cobwebs were in the room, I know it’s an old hotel but good blik and still remove the stains. Apart from that everything was good.

A lovely overnight stay, once we finally found a way in.

Lovely location on the edge of woodland. Generous parking area, relaxing bar/lounge, superb breakfast, lovely staff.

Not their fault, but the approach in every direction is currently a building site which makes actually getting in- or out - a real challenge.

Stylish place in the woods

A great location in the woods with superb terrace on the lake shore. Nice restaurant.

Signposting to and from the hotel should be improved. In October 2023 roadworks make it hard to reach the hotel. Generally the hotel is stylish but needs a refurbishment. Especially the bathroom and toilet are functional but outdated and have some mold spots. The trees are very close to the balconies so it's pretty dark in the room.

The hotel is a little shabby. Particularly the foyer carpet. There was no hot water for the first shower. The radiator in the bathrooms had cobwebs on it. The window sills were not clean. The bathroom was designed very badly and there was very little room to open the shower door. The kettle was not clean. I was asked for my credit card at check in and again at checkout when my details were already in the system. At check out breakfast had been automatically included on the invoice. When I questioned this the condescending receptionist said it was always included initially. This is very wrong, if a guest is in a hurry the guest may not look properly at the invoice. The receptionist at check out needs to learn to explain and communicate in an apologetic manner for mistakes made by the hotel. Her manner and attitude were absolutely not acceptable.

The facilities were good and the provision of walking trails on a map. The room was comfortable but the wardrobes are too dark inside. There were not enough coat hangers but more were provided quickly.

Great weekend getaway

The location, the friendliness of the staff, be able to bring the dog. Breakfast despite being a bit basic all the products were fresh. Wide opening hours of the cafeteria and swimming pool.

Some facilites were a bit oudated like the hairdryer of the room. Missing coffee options during breakfast. Very standard offer in drinks, local products could enhance the stay.

A good hotel to stay for no more than two days

Breakfast = good, all you need I guess Food = good and tasty, but the portions of the main courses are rather small. Location = green, near a lake is nice and quiet, too bad it brings along a lot of mosquito's. Staff is very friendly, mostly the ones with several years of duty I've been here twice, first time for about 4 days = too long, too expensive in comparison with what you get in return Second time: 2 days = perfect

Alcoholic beverages = expensive, to my opinion the amount of wine in a glass is too small in comparison to the price you pay. Accommodation = the hotel could use a renovation, it's getting old, probably no or very poor insulation, a lot of noise in the hallway, doors smacking, you can hear people talking in their rooms, flushing toilets, running showers, tv noises,... better insulation might solve this problem, I have earplugs, but that didn't help,

Great Location if you want to take long walks in forest .

Spa needs update . Very basic . No towels , you need to take towel from your room . We booked spa for 16.30 , by time we arrived sauna was completely off , we waited for 50 minutes to get it started . Spa looks like from 80 ies
